GTA 6 Is Still Coming November 19, and Rockstar Has Gone Quiet Again
Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed twice — out of 2025, then off May 26. The November 19 date has now held longer than either of the ones before it.
Eighty days out, the date is still November 19, 2026. That is longer than either of the previous windows survived, which is the closest thing to reassurance Rockstar has offered.
How we got here
GTA 6 was first targeted for 2025. That slipped to May 26, 2026, and then to November 19, 2026 — the current date, confirmed by Rockstar and repeated by Take-Two.
Rockstar’s statement on the second delay was unusually direct:
These extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick did not give shareholders a specific reason beyond saying the company remained “excited and confident.”
What that pattern usually means
Two delays announced well in advance, with the second buying six months rather than a few weeks, is the shape of a schedule being corrected rather than defended. Studios that are weeks from missing a date tend to announce weeks. Rockstar announced half a year, twice, and then stopped talking.
The silence since is not itself a warning sign. It is how Rockstar has always run a launch.
What is actually confirmed
Not much beyond the date, and that is deliberate. Rockstar has shown trailers and little else, has not committed to a PC version at launch, and has not opened preorders on a schedule that would tell you anything.
Anyone offering more specificity than that is guessing.
What to watch
The tell will be preorders and a preload window. If those appear on the usual cadence through September and October, November 19 holds. If the marketing beat that normally lands about ten weeks out does not arrive, that is the moment to start reading into it.
